Honolulu 2010: La Palme D'Or

Ala Moana is a huge shopping center. One of the little gems in this shopping mecca is La Palme D'Or patisserie. My cousin introduced this place to me, and I am quite impressed.  I didn't get any fancy cakes, but I had the coffee jelly drink.  Let me tell you, jelly is way better than tapioca pearls.

Honolulu 2010: Leonard's Bakery

I did not make it to Liliha, but I did make it to Leonard's.  You can choose from filled or non filled. I chose a custard filled malasada. It's pretty much like a doughnut with a slightly less doughy texture.  It's pretty large, not like a timbit, more like a small snowball.

Honolulu 2010: Cream Pot

This is a cute cottage-like restaurant. Imagine if you were in Hansel and Gretel's house, it reminds me of that mixed with hobbit like furnishings.

Maguro Eggs Benedict:  Ahi on top of poached eggs, avocado, and rice.

Honolulu 2010: Roy's Waikiki Beach

Not sure why American's are into this whole Asian Fusion cuisine, but when it's done right, it's delicious.
For a chain, this restaurant is really fantastic.  Especially for seafood lovers comme-moi.  I think if I took more time looking at the menu I might have decided on something different.  Though I was very happy with the result.

I had the Trio of fish (the name caught my attention as it reminded me of SF Catch) and ordered the Melting Hot Chocolate SoufflĂ© (since it takes 45min to prepare, it's best ordered ahead of time).

Trio of fish (Ahi, Butterfish, Salmon). It was actually served in 3 seperate bowls, to incorporate each sauce matching each fish, otherwise the mixture would not be pleasant.  Ahi was perfect as usual for Ahi, but the wasabi sauce was a turnoff as I dislike the flavouring of wasabi.  The salmon was pretty good, but the most outstanding dish was the Butterfish.  My cousin ordered the butterfish (smart).
Melt in your mouth goodness. It's like tasting happy.  I should have known this since I had butter fish at the Royal Hawaiian luau.

Hot Chocolate Souffle:  What a perfect yet tiny souffle!  I just think of 'Sabrina' in the scene where they all take their souffle's from the oven and are judged on the appearance.
Basically a molten lava cake that's shaped differently and tastes infintely better than any molten lava cake I've ever had.  The scoop of vanilla ice cream was held in an edible caramel brittle bowl. I normally don't enjoy vanilla ice cream, but this went well with the chocolate and you could even see the specks of vanilla bean in the ice cream.

Spicy Edamame beans to keep you busy while you wait for your food to come.

Honolulu 2010: City Cafe

Shave ice is the best here! There are more toppings to select from. I ended up getting the same as Wailoa because I wanted to compare the taste. I only added the pudding.  I was between pudding or grass jelly.  I enjoyed the pudding.

My cousin ordered peanuts and oatmeal.
